How do tour notes work in ChatGPT and Claude?
Updated
When a rider asks ChatGPT or Claude about your tour, with the livedot connector, it can read your tour notes and answer from them in your words: what to pack, how each day runs, where to meet. It quotes only what you wrote, never adds to it, and says so when your notes don’t cover the question.
What riders can ask
Riders with the livedot connector in ChatGPT or Claude can ask about your tour by its name, its address or your name as the organiser:
- “What should I pack for the Durban tour?”
- “Where do we meet on day 1?”
- “How does each day run on tour.windline.tech/your-tour?”
The assistant reads your tour notes and answers from them. To add the connector, see using Windline in ChatGPT and Claude.
Your words, never made up
The connector hands the assistant your notes as yours, with one instruction: quote and summarise them, never add to them.
- The answer comes from your notes, often quoting you, with the date you last updated them.
- If your notes don’t cover it, the assistant is told to say so rather than guess. For example, if you haven’t written about bike boxes, it says your notes don’t mention them.
- If there are no notes yet, it says “The organiser of … hasn’t written any notes for riders yet” and gives the tour page.
- A link to your tour page comes with every answer, so riders can read the notes in full.
AI assistants can still make mistakes, so for anything that matters on the day, such as a meeting time, it’s worth saying “check the tour page” in your notes.
Keep them current
Riders get what your notes say at the moment they ask. Change your notes on the web dashboard and save, and the next answer uses the new version. See adding tour notes.
- Write for questions. Short headings such as “What to pack”, “Meeting points” and “Each day” make good answers.
- Put each day’s meeting point and time in writing, day by day.
- Leave out anything private. Tour notes are public, like the rest of your tour page, and the connector reads them like any visitor. Door codes and personal numbers belong in a private message.
Which tours
Tour notes are only for tours, and the connector reads them only on published tours. Drafts, private rides, races and regular rides don’t have notes it can read.
The connector is new, and so are tour notes. If a rider gets an answer that doesn’t match your notes, tell us.
