Riding an event
Opening a link, reading a day, setting your own pace and sharing the forecast.
- How do I open an event and find my day?Tap the link your organiser shared. It opens the event in your browser with every day or stage listed, each with its date, start time, distance and rating. Tap a day for its map and full forecast.
- How to read a day’s forecastA day opens with its rating and the average headwind or tailwind along the route, then the start and finish times. Below are the Head, Cross and Tail shares, boxes for wind, temperature and rain with hour-by-hour charts, and a breakdown stretch by stretch.
- What do the colours and arrows on the map mean?On a day’s map, the route is coloured by the headwind or tailwind on each stretch: red for a strong headwind, amber for a lighter one, grey for little either way, and green for tailwind. Arrows show where the wind is blowing to, with its speed.
- Can I set my own pace?On races and regular rides, yes: use Your pace at the top of the event page. Times and ratings on every day follow it. On multi-day tours the group rides together, so everyone sees the organiser’s speeds.
- How does a regular or group ride link work?A regular ride has one link that never changes. It always shows the next rides on the schedule, for example every Saturday at 06:00, each with its own forecast and rating. Today’s ride stays on the list until the day ends.
- How do I share a day’s forecast as an image?Open the day and tap Share once the forecast has loaded. Choose Post (4:5) or Story (9:16), then Share image or Download image. Copy caption copies a ready-made caption with the event link.
- Which time zone are the times in?Every time on an event is shown in the event’s own time zone, which Windline sets from where the first route starts. A rider in another country sees local times for the ride, not their phone’s time.
- How do I report an event? In the iPhone app, open the event, tap the … menu and choose Report this event. On the website, use Report this event at the foot of the event’s page. Tell us what’s wrong; a real person reviews every report, and events that break the rules are removed.
