Troubleshooting
Error messages, missing forecasts, links that won’t open and other fixes.
- GPX file errors and how to fix themMost GPX problems come from exporting the wrong kind of file. Windline needs a .gpx file containing a track or route with at least two points. Export the route again as GPX from your planner, then drop the new file in.
- Why was my GPX file skipped as a duplicate?Windline skips a file when its route matches one already in the event: it starts and finishes within 0.5 km of an existing route and is about the same length. This stops the same day being added twice.
- The forecast isn’t showingIf a day says “Forecast opens”, it’s more than about 10 days away. If it says “Couldn’t load the forecast”, check your connection and choose Try again. A dash with “Forecast not available yet” usually clears within a few minutes.
- The event link says “not found” or “removed”“Not found” means the event isn’t published at that address: it was unpublished, renamed, or the link has a typo. “This tour was removed” means the organiser deleted it. Ask the organiser for the current link.
- Why can’t I use the address I want?Either another event of the same type already uses it, or it’s a word kept for Windline’s own pages, such as support, help, app or tour. Add a year, place or club name, for example pacific-coast-2027.
- The map won’t loadThe map needs a working connection and a browser that can draw maps. Reload the page, try Wi-Fi or another browser, and turn off content blockers for the site. The forecast, ratings and breakdown still work without the map.
- The Apple or Google sign-in window won’t openYour browser is probably blocking pop-ups. Allow pop-ups for app.windline.tech and choose Continue with Apple or Continue with Google again. If the window closed before it finished, start again and complete the sign-in in it.
- The start times look wrongTimes are shown in the event’s time zone, set from where its first route starts, not in your device’s zone. If the event’s time zone itself is wrong, the organiser can change it in Settings without moving the clock times.
- A day has disappeared from the event pageFinished days drop off the event page once they’re over in the event’s time zone, so riders see what’s next first. If an upcoming day is missing, the organiser may have deleted or moved it.
- How do I contact support, and what should I send?Use the contact form at windline.tech/support/contact. Say what you tried, what happened and what you expected, and attach a screenshot of the error or the GPX file that won’t go in. A real person replies by email.
