Getting started
What Windline is, what it costs and what you need to use it.
- What is Windline?Windline turns a GPX route into a live forecast of the wind, gusts, rain and heat you’ll meet on every stretch of road, timed to when you’ll be there. Organisers set up a tour, race or regular ride once, and riders open one link.
- Is Windline free?Yes. Windline is free for riders and organisers. You can create tours, races and regular rides, publish them and share the live forecast with as many riders as you like, without paying.
- Do riders need an account or an app?No. Riders open the event link in any phone or computer browser and see the full forecast straight away. There’s nothing to download and nothing to sign up for. Only organisers who create events need an account.
- Which phones, tablets and browsers work with Windline?Windline works in any up-to-date browser: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Samsung Internet, on iPhone, Android, iPad, Mac and Windows. Rider pages are built for phones; the organiser dashboard works best on a computer.
- Does Windline work in my country?Yes. Windline works anywhere in the world: the forecast comes from Apple Weather, which covers the whole globe. Routes can be anywhere, and each event shows its times in the time zone where its route starts.
