Setting up events
Tours, races and regular rides: dates, start times, pace, publishing and sharing.
- How do I set up an event?Sign in at app.windline.tech, choose New event, pick a multi-day tour, a race or event, or a regular or group ride, and give it a name and dates. Add your GPX files, check the start times, then Publish and share the link.
- Tour, race or regular ride: which should I choose?Choose Multi-day tour when a group rides day after day together, Race or event when riders go at their own pace over official stages, and Regular / group ride for the same route every week. The type can’t be changed later.
- How do I set start times, riding speed and stops?Open a day or stage in the dashboard to set its start time, riding speed (8 to 45 km/h, or 5 to 28 mph) and total stop time (0 to 600 minutes). Windline shows the estimated finish as you change them. New days use the defaults in Settings.
- How do I reorder, move or delete days?Choose Reorder to drag days into riding order; dates and numbers follow the new order. To move one day to another date, open it and pick the date under When. To remove one, open it and choose Delete day.
- How do I move an event to new dates?Open Settings (the gear icon) and change the date Day 1 is on. Every day moves by the same number of days and keeps its start time. Before any routes are added, you can change the start and end dates directly.
- How do I publish an event and choose its address?Choose Publish, type the address you want after tour.windline.tech/, event.windline.tech/ or ride.windline.tech/, wait for “is available”, and publish. Addresses use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, 2 to 48 characters.
- How do I share the link with my riders?After publishing, the share window gives you Copy and Share on WhatsApp. Later, use Copy link or Share at the top of the event in the dashboard. Riders open the link in any browser, with no account or app.
- How do I unpublish or delete an event?Open the event’s Settings. Unpublish hides it and keeps the address reserved for you. Delete removes the event, its days and routes, and frees the address. Riders opening the link see that it isn’t available.
- Can anyone see my event before I publish it?No. A new event is a private draft that only you can see in your dashboard. It gets a public link only when you publish it, and you can unpublish at any time.
- How do I set up a regular or group ride?Choose New event, then Regular / group ride. Name it, pick the days it rides on and the start time, then add the route as a GPX file. Publish once, and the same link always shows the next rides with their forecasts.
