How do I give my club a Biotree?
Updated
On your club or organiser screen in the Windline dashboard, an admin presses Create our club’s Biotree. Windline makes the club’s own free Biotree page, yourclub.biotree.bio, from its Windline page: its name, logo, a one-line bio and its links. Add your kit shop, socials and WhatsApp group on Biotree.
What it is
A Biotree is one link for everything your club has: the kit shop, Instagram, the WhatsApp group, the club page. Windline can make your club’s in one tap, already filled in from your Windline page, at yourclub.biotree.bio. It’s free, with everything Biotree Pro has.
Make it
- Sign in to the Windline dashboard and open Clubs, then your club or organiser page. Only the page’s admins see this.
- Under Create our club’s Biotree, add the club’s contact email. Use the club’s address (for example info@yourclub.co.za), not your own: Biotree keys the page by this email, so it stays the club’s when admins change.
- Check the handle. It starts as your club’s Windline address; it becomes yourclub.biotree.bio. We check it as you type: if it’s taken, pick one of the suggestions. No code goes out until the handle is free.
- Press Email the club a code. We’ll email a code to the club address: open that inbox and type the 6 digits in. The code works for 15 minutes. This is how we know the address is your club’s, so nobody else can make or change a Biotree on it.
- Look over the preview, then press Create our club’s Biotree.
Your Biotree is live straight away, and it becomes your club page’s Links & shop button, unless you’d already set your own link there.
What goes on it
Your club’s name, logo and one line about it (your “who it’s for”, or “rides and races, live on livedot”), and four buttons: Our club, Join us, Watch us live (your next race, when there is one) and Follow on livedot. Add the rest, like your kit shop and socials, on Biotree itself.
Keeping it up to date
When your page’s name, logo or one-liner changes, or a race goes onto it, your Biotree follows by itself. Press Refresh our Biotree any time. Only what changed is sent; anything you added on Biotree stays as it is.
If your club is on RunFast too, using the same club email there (with a code to that inbox) gives you the same Biotree page, not a second one.
If it says…
- This email already has a Biotree. Someone has a Biotree on that address already. Use a different club address, or paste the existing Biotree’s address and press Link it as Links & shop.
- Already have a Biotree for the club? Paste its address under Link it instead and press Link it as Links & shop. Nothing is sent to Biotree.
- That address already has a club Biotree through livedot. Another club page holds that address. If it’s your club, paste its Biotree address and press Link it as Links & shop, or contact us.
- That code isn’t right / has expired. Type it again, or press Send a new code. After 5 wrong tries, ask for a new one; you can ask for 3 codes an hour.
- That handle is taken. Pick one of the suggestions, or type another. Windline never picks one for you.
- Biotree couldn’t do that just now. We’ve been told. Try again later.
What’s sent, and taking it down
Only when an admin presses the button: a code to the club’s contact email, then the email, name, logo, one-line bio and its public links. Never your members, never who’s riding, never the admin’s own details. See Privacy. To take the page down, use Biotree’s own controls, or contact us and we’ll do it.
