How do I get my club found on livedot?

Updated

Your club is placed by its own public weekly rides until you pick an area. On your club or organiser screen in the Windline dashboard, open Get found on livedot to check it and add sports, sessions, who can come, pace and your club’s links. People who ask ChatGPT or Claude for a club near them then find you through livedot, with Join.

Why it matters

Every January, people who’ve decided to start riding ask ChatGPT or Claude things like “beginner cycling group near Sandton”. With livedot connected, the answer lists clubs near them from Windline, each with its weekly rides, the next ride and a Join button that opens your club page. Your area is what puts you on that list: a club without one can’t be placed on a map, so it isn’t found.

Already riding on Windline? You’re probably found already

If your page has published, public weekly rides or upcoming events, Windline places your club by itself: it takes the start most of your rides share (within about 2 km), keeps it to about 100 m, and names the suburb or town. Only your public rides count, never a private ride, a draft, a member’s own ride or anything about your members. When you open Get found on livedot you’ll see it filled in, with “We set this from your club rides. Change it if it’s wrong.” Pick a different place and save, and yours is used from then on.

No page yet?

If your club or organisation isn’t on Windline yet, apply for a free page first. A real person at Windline sets it up and emails you when it’s ready. livedot’s answers, and its area pages at livedot.me/clubs, also point clubs that aren’t listed to the same application.

Fill it in

  1. Sign in to the Windline dashboard and open Clubs, then your club or organiser page.
  2. Under Get found on livedot, type your suburb or town in Home area and pick it from the list.
  3. Tick your sports: road, gravel, mountain biking, and multi-day tours if you run them.
  4. Under Who can come, choose Open to anyone or Members only, and turn on Beginners welcome if a new rider can come along and won’t be dropped.
  5. Add your pace groups in a few words, for example “25–28 km/h and 30+”, and one line on who it’s for.
  6. Clubs: add your club’s links (Biotree), one https link for your kit shop, socials and WhatsApp group. It shows as Links & shop on your club page. No Biotree yet? The link under the box makes one free.
  7. Add any weekly sessions that aren’t already a weekly ride on Windline: the day, the time and the meeting point.
  8. Tap Save. Your club page shows it straight away; livedot’s answers catch up within about 10 minutes.

Nothing is required. Until there’s an area (yours, or one from your public rides), the dashboard reminds you: “Add your area so people near you can find you.”

Your weekly rides count by themselves

Every published weekly ride on your page is already a session, with its day, time and start. You don’t need to add those again.

What becomes public

Everything in this section shows on your public club page and in livedot’s answers: your area, sports, sessions, Open to anyone or Members only, Beginners welcome, pace groups, who it’s for and your club’s links, beside your name and logo. Your area is a suburb or town, kept to about 100 m: use where you meet, never a home address.

Never shown: your members, managers, who’s riding by name, private rides and drafts. livedot lists clubs and organisers only, never a person.

Then what

Someone taps Join in ChatGPT or Claude and lands on your club page, where they sign in or make a free account in the same step and come straight back to it. You see them in your members, or as a request if you approve each one. See managing your club’s members.
