Add tour notes for your riders

Updated

Tour notes put your instructions on your tour page, below the days: what to pack, how each day runs and where to meet. Open the tour on the web dashboard at app.windline.tech, write or paste your notes in Tour notes, and tap Save notes. Up to 10,000 characters, with headings, bullets, bold and links. Tours only.

What tour notes are

Tour notes are your instructions for the riders on your tour: what to pack, how each day runs, meeting points, and anything else they should know before the start. They show on your tour page, below the list of days, so riders find the forecast and the plan in one place.

Tour notes are new, and only for tours. Races, regular rides and private rides don’t have them.

Add your notes

  1. Go to app.windline.tech in a browser and sign in.
  2. Open your tour.
  3. Scroll down to Tour notes, below the days and the map.
  4. Write your notes, or paste them from a document or a message.
  5. Tap Save notes (or press Ctrl + Enter, ⌘ + Enter on a Mac).

If the tour is published, riders see the notes straight away. If it’s a draft, they show once you publish. To take the notes down, clear the box and save.

Tour notes are on the web dashboard. The iPhone and Android apps don’t edit them yet.

Formatting

Line breaks stay as you type them. You can also use a little formatting:

  • # Heading for a heading (### Heading for a smaller one)
  • - Item for a bullet list, 1. Step for a numbered list
  • **bold** for bold
  • [link text](https://example.com) for a link. A plain https:// address becomes a link too.

Anything else, including HTML, shows as plain text. Links open in a new tab.

You can write up to 10,000 characters. The count under the box shows how many you’ve used.

Good to know

  • Finished tours: once a tour is over it moves to Past and stays as it is, notes included. Use Ride it again for a new tour on new dates: its notes come with it, ready to change.
  • Long notes show the first part on the page with Read all the notes under it.
  • Your notes are public, like the rest of your tour page. Leave out anything you’d only share privately, such as door codes or personal phone numbers you don’t want online.
