Taps for your tour

Updated

On your tour’s days, anyone can send your tour a tap on the back, including from ChatGPT or Claude (“Give Alistair’s Durban tour a tap on the back”). They come to you, the organiser: a buzz on your phone, and Tonight’s taps on the tour’s page in your dashboard, to read out round the campfire. On by default; switch it off in the tour’s Settings.

Your riders’ friends and families can cheer the whole tour on, and you read the taps out at night.

Who can send one, and when

  • Anyone, on the tour’s days: from an hour before day 1 starts until midnight after the last day, where the tour rides.
  • From ChatGPT or Claude, through livedot: “Where is Alistair’s Durban tour?” shows the tour with a Give the tour a tap on the back button, or they can just ask “Give the Durban tour a tap on the back”.
  • From the tour’s live link, as before, while you share Follow live.
  • Only published tours. Never a private one.

Each tap shows the sender’s public name if they’re signed in to Windline or RunFast, or the first name they gave, or no name at all (“Someone”). One a minute from each person, and up to 300 a day for the tour.

Where you see them

  • On your phone: “Sam sent the Durban tour a tap on the back”. At most one buzz a minute, however many come in.
  • Tonight’s taps: on the tour’s page in your dashboard (app.windline.tech), on each of its days. The day’s taps, newest first, with the names, the times and the count. Open it at the campfire and read them out.

Taps go to you, the organiser, never to a rider, and nobody learns where the group is from them.

Turn them off

Open the tour, choose Settings, and switch off Taps on the back for the tour. Anyone who tries then sees that the organiser has turned them off. Turning off Taps on the back in your own account settings turns them off for every tour you run.

Web dashboard (app.windline.tech). The push arrives in the Windline app on iPhone and Android.
