Why was my GPX file skipped as a duplicate?

Updated

Windline skips a file when its route matches one already in the event: it starts and finishes within 0.5 km of an existing route and is about the same length. This stops the same day being added twice.

The messages

  • “1 file was already in this tour, so it was skipped.”
  • “That route is already in this tour. Nothing new to add.”

How a duplicate is spotted

A new route counts as a duplicate when all three are true:

  • Its start is within 0.5 km (0.3 miles) of an existing route’s start.
  • Its finish is within 0.5 km of that route’s finish.
  • Its length is within 1 km (0.6 miles) or 3%, whichever is larger.

If it really is a different day

Some events ride the same route twice, for example a loop on two days. To add it again, open the day you want and use Upload the GPX route there. Duplicates are only skipped when you drop files onto the event to add new days.

Replacing a route

To swap a day’s route for an updated version, open the day and choose Replace GPX.
