Can I set my own pace?
Updated
On races and regular rides, yes: use Your pace at the top of the event page. Times and ratings on every day follow it. On multi-day tours the group rides together, so everyone sees the organiser’s speeds.
Races and events
Races have a Your pace control labelled “Faster or slower than the plan, on every stage”. Use − and + to move your pace up to 15 km/h (9 mph) either side of the organiser’s plan. It shows “As planned” or, for example, “Plan +2 km/h”. Your speed always stays between 8 and 45 km/h (5 and 28 mph).
A faster rider and a slower rider can meet very different weather on the same stage, so every stage’s times, wind and rating follow your pace.
Regular and group rides
Regular rides have Your pace with “Ratings and times use it”. Set any speed from 8 to 45 km/h (5 to 28 mph), in steps of 1 km/h.
Multi-day tours
Tours don’t have a pace control. A tour group rides together at the speeds the organiser set for each day, so every rider sees the same plan.
Keeping your pace
Your pace is saved in the page’s address, and it carries into each day you open. Bookmark the page after setting it, and it opens at your pace next time. When you share a day’s image, the link in the caption is the plain event link, so friends start from the planned pace.
