How do I join my club on Windline?
Updated
Open your club’s Windline page (windline.tech/c/your-club) and tap Join the club (or Ask to join, if the club approves members). Sign in or create a free account and you come straight back, joined. Signed in, the club page shows who’s riding and lets you say you’re riding right there. Your clubs also live under Clubs on the web dashboard. In the iPhone app in a coming update.
Join in one tap
- Open your club’s Windline page. Your club shares the link, for example in its WhatsApp group or on its Strava club. It looks like windline.tech/c/your-club.
- Tap Join the club.
- If you’re not signed in, Windline asks you to sign in or create a free account, then brings you straight back to the club page and joins you. You can also use Sign in or Sign up at the top right of any club page.
Most clubs let anyone with the link join straight away: the button reads Join the club. Some approve members first: then it reads Ask to join. Tap it and Windline tells the club’s managers. Until one of them approves you, you’ll see Request sent, with Cancel request if you change your mind.
Already in the club
When you’re signed in, the club’s page knows you. Your photo shows at the top right, and instead of Join the button shows Member (or Request sent while you wait, or Manage the club if you run it). Members see who’s riding each ride and can tap I’m riding right there on the club page: see saying you’re riding.
Signed out after a while? Tap Sign in at the top right of the club page and you come straight back to it.
Where your clubs live
On the web dashboard, Clubs lists every club you’re in. Open one to see:
- its next rides, with the date, start time and distance;
- who’s riding each one (see saying you’re riding);
- a link to the club’s public page and its Strava club.
On a phone, the people button at the top of the dashboard opens your clubs.
What joining doesn’t do
Joining doesn’t fill your Riding list or send you an alert for every club ride. You choose the rides you’re riding, and only those get the evening-before alert. If you’d like to hear when the club adds a ride, turn on Tell me when the club adds a ride on the club. It’s off unless you turn it on.
Leaving a club
Open the club under Clubs and choose Leave. Its rides leave your Riding list. You can join again any time.
In the iPhone app
Clubs come to the iPhone app in a coming update: a people button at the top of Events opens your clubs, and club rides you’re riding show in Riding with the club’s badge. Until then, use the web dashboard; the rides you say you’re riding already appear in the app’s Riding list.
