What notifications does the Windline iPhone app send?

Updated

Besides the 6 pm evening-before alert, the iPhone app tells you within seconds when an event you follow changes or is removed, when your club adds a ride (if you turned that on), when a club approves you, and, if you run a club, when someone asks to join. Allow notifications when the app asks; turn them off any time in iPhone Settings.

What you’ll get

Notification When
The wind for tomorrow’s ride 6 pm the evening before each ride you follow or are riding. See evening-before alerts.
“Pont Drift: Day 3 now starts at 07:00” The organiser changes a day’s date, start time or route, or adds or removes a day, on an event you follow. Several edits close together arrive as one notification.
“‹Event› was removed by its organiser” An event you follow is taken down before it’s over.
“‹Club› added a ride” Your club puts a new ride on its page, if you turned on Tell me when the club adds a ride for that club. It’s off unless you turn it on.
“You’re in ‹club›” A club you asked to join approves you.
“‹Name› asked to join ‹club›” Only for people who run a club: someone asks to join. Tap it to approve or decline in the web dashboard.

Tap any notification to open the event or the club it’s about.

What you won’t get

  • No notification for every ride your club runs, only the ones you said you’re riding (and new rides, if you asked for them).
  • No marketing. Windline only notifies you about rides and clubs you chose.

Turn them on or off

  • All of them: iPhone Settings, then Notifications, then Windline.
  • The evening-before alert for one event: on that event’s page in the app.
  • New club rides: on the club, with Tell me when the club adds a ride.

Notifications go to the iPhone where you’re signed in to Windline. Sign out and that phone stops getting them.
