Does the iPhone app work without signal?

Yes, with the forecast it last saved. With no signal the app shows what it saved, and says how long ago it was updated. After six hours without an update, it warns you that it couldn’t refresh.
What you’ll see
- “No connection. Showing what was saved, if anything.”
- “Updated … ago” on each forecast. After six hours it turns amber and says it couldn’t refresh.
Tip for remote routes
Open the event and each day you’ll ride while you still have signal, ideally the evening before. The app keeps that forecast for when you’re out of range.
