Why does a Windline link open in Safari instead of the app?
Updated
Windline links open straight in the app once it’s installed: tap the link, and the event or day opens in Windline. If one opens in a browser instead, press and hold the link and choose Open in Windline, or tap Open on the banner at the top of the page.
Links open in the app
With the Windline app installed, links to tour.windline.tech, event.windline.tech and ride.windline.tech open in the app, straight to that event or day. Private ride links work the same way.
When a link opens in a browser
- In Safari: tap Open on the Windline banner at the top of the page.
- Inside WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook: those apps sometimes open links in their own browser. Tap the link in the page that says Follow this ride in the Windline app, or open the link in Safari first.
- Long-press: press and hold the link and choose Open in “Windline”.
- Right after installing: iPhones can take a little while to learn which links belong to a new app. Try again in a few minutes.
If you once chose to open Windline links in Safari, press and hold a link and choose Open in “Windline” to switch back.
