How do I edit, publish or delete an event in the iPhone app?
Updated
Tap the event under Organising (or open a ride under My Rides and tap Edit). Tap a day to change its route, start time or pace, and the gear for the event’s settings: dates, every-day start time, speed and stops, route downloads, live tracking, unpublishing and deleting.
Open the editor
- An event you organise: tap it under Organising.
- One of My Rides: open it, then tap Edit.
The top shows whether it’s Live, a Draft (only you can see it) or one of My Rides, with its link, Copy link and Share. Below are its days, distance, climbing and dates, and a map with each day’s rating.
Change a day
Tap a day to change it:
- Route: Replace GPX.
- Towns: where it starts and finishes.
- When: the day and the Start time. Picking a day that already has a route swaps the two.
- Pace: Riding speed (the average while moving) and Stop time, with quick choices: None, 45 min, 1 h 45 and 2 h 30.
It shows when you’ll finish as you change them. Delete day removes the day and its route.
On a race, the speed is the Starting speed: every rider can change it on the race page.
For a regular or group ride, tap Edit ride to change the meeting point, days, start time and stop time.
Add, reorder and sort days
- + then Add GPX files (each file becomes a day, in route order) or Add a day. See adding routes in the app.
- Reorder: drag the days, or Sort by route, then Save order.
- If the days don’t follow on from each other on the map, the app says so and offers Sort by route or Keep this order.
The event’s settings
Tap the gear at the top:
- Details: the name, the line under the title, and the time zone.
- Dates.
- Every day: Start time, Speed and Stops. Change one and every day gets it, and so do days you add later. You can still change a single day afterwards.
- Route downloads: Let riders download the route. See letting riders download it.
- Live tracking: see live tracking from the app.
- Who sees it (My Rides only): Link sharing, and Get a new link, which stops the old one working.
- Publishing: Unpublish. Riders opening the link see “Not found” until you publish again, and the address stays yours.
- Delete: the event, its routes and its public link are gone for good.
Tap Save when you’re done.
Publish
On a draft, tap Publish. Choose its address (for example tour.windline.tech/your-name); the app checks it’s free as you type. Then tap Publish.
You’re live shows the link, with Copy, Share link, WhatsApp and Image. You’re following it under Riding, so you see what your riders see.
A ride under My Rides has Share with a group instead: it publishes the ride with its own address and moves it to Organising.
Offline
Changes made with no signal are saved on the phone and sync when you’re back online.
Everything here is the same event as on the website, so you can carry on at app.windline.tech.
