How do I get started with the iPhone app?
Updated
Download Windline from the App Store and open it. Choose your units, then join the demo tour to see how a day reads. Then open your own event’s link, or set up your own ride. An account is free and optional for following events.
The first time you open it
- Know the wind before you ride. Choose your units: Distance and speed (km or miles), Temperature (°C or °F) and Rain (mm or inches). You can change them any time in Settings.
- See how it works. Tap Join the demo tour: a five-day tour down the Pacific Coast, from San Francisco to Solvang. Its days are always just ahead, so every forecast is live. The app shows you round it: tap a day to see its wind, then Next.
- Ride with Strava? If there’s room on Windline’s Strava connection, the app offers to add the wind to every ride you upload to Strava. Tap Not now to skip. See Strava and Ride with GPS in the app.
- Create your free account, or tap Not now. See signing in.
Skip at the top skips the tour. To see it again, open Settings and tap See how Windline works.
If you open the app from an event link, it goes straight to that event instead.
Then add your rides
- An event someone shared: tap its link in WhatsApp, Messages or Mail, and it opens in the app. See following an event.
- Your own ride or trip, or an event you organise: tap + on the Events screen, then Set up a new event. See setting up an event in the app.
Do I need an account?
Not to follow an event. You need one to set up events, join clubs and use live tracking. It’s free, and it’s the same account as on windline.tech, so your events and settings are on any phone you sign in on.
The app needs iOS 17 or later, on iPhone.
