How do I sign in to the Android app?

Sign in

Open Settings (the gear on the Events screen) and tap Sign in or create an account. The app also asks when you do something that needs an account, such as setting up an event.

The screen says Welcome back. Choose one:

• Continue with Google. Pick your Google account.
• Sign in with Apple. Apple’s sign-in page opens. Sign in there and you come back to Windline. You can hide your email from Windline if you like.
• Email and password. Type them and tap Sign in.

New to Windline? Tap New here? Create an account, enter your name, email and a password of at least 8 characters, then Create account. With Google or Apple, the first sign-in creates your account.

Use the same way you used on the website or iPhone. If you used Apple there, use Apple here.

When the app offers an account

At the end of the demo tour, and once after you follow your first event, the app shows Create your free Windline account. Create one there, tap Have an account? Sign in if you already have one, or tap Not now to carry on without.

Confirm your email

With email and password, Windline sends a 6-digit code. Type it in the boxes and the app confirms it by itself (or tap Confirm my email).

• No code? It can take a minute. Check your spam folder too.
• Send a new code works after 60 seconds.
• Wrong email? Tap Use another email.

Forgot your password

Tap Forgot password?, enter your email and tap Send the link. Open the email and set a new password, then tap Back to sign in. See resetting your password.

One account, everywhere

The events you follow and the events you organise are the same in the app, on an iPhone and at app.windline.tech. Events you followed on this phone before signing in are added to your account. Your units and appearance are saved to your account, so the website matches.

If you sign out, the events your account follows leave this phone with their alerts, and the phone stops getting notifications about your events and clubs. You can carry on without an account. Sign in again and everything comes back.

Messages you might see

• “That email and password don’t match.” Check them, or tap Forgot password?.
• “There’s already an account with that email. Sign in instead.” You made one before: tap Have an account? Sign in.
• “You already have a Windline account with this email. Sign in the way you did before.” You used Apple, Google or a password last time. Use that. See another sign-in method.
• “Too many tries. Wait a minute and try again.”
• “No connection. Check your internet and try again.”
