How do I report or block someone?

Updated

Report any rider or club from the bottom of their screen or page: Report Thabo, or Report this club. A person looks at every report within 24 hours. Block anyone who follows you or gives you a tap on the back: they stop following, can’t follow again, and their taps don’t reach you.

Windline is for cheering each other on. If someone isn’t, tell us, or block them.

Report a rider or a club

  • A rider: open them (from their link, under Live, or on a race’s map) and tap Report Thabo at the bottom.
  • A club: tap Report this club at the bottom of the club in the app, or of the club’s race map (in the app, or on the web at windline.tech/live/club/…).

Choose what’s wrong: Their name or photo, Their words, Spam or a fake account, Someone may be in danger or Something else. Add a note if it helps, then tap Send report. You don’t need to be signed in.

A person at Windline looks at every report within 24 hours. The person you report isn’t told who it was. If someone may be in danger, call your local emergency number first.

To report an event, see reporting an event.

Block someone

  • A follower: in the app, tap Live at the top of the Events screen. Under Your followers, tap Block next to them.
  • Someone who tapped you: in your Taps on the back list, tap … next to their name, then Block and their name.

Windline asks first. Once you block someone:

  • they stop following you, and can’t follow you again from that account or phone;
  • their taps on the back don’t reach you;
  • they aren’t told: your link tells them it has been reset.

If they followed you by your link, Windline asks Reset your link too?, because they could still watch from it in a browser. Reset my link makes a new link, and the old one stops working for everyone who only had it. Send the new one to the people you want. Not now keeps your link as it is.

Remove, or undo a block

  • Remove, next to Block, takes someone off your followers without blocking them. They can follow again if they still have your link.
  • Unblock: under Blocked, at the bottom of Your followers.

What we check

A rider’s own words on a race are checked for abuse when they’re typed. Clubs are looked after by their managers. For anything else, report it and a person will look.

Reporting a rider or club is on the web and in the Android app now, and blocking is in the Android app. Both come to the iPhone app in its next update.
