Why does a day say “Soon” or “Forecast opens”?

Updated

The day is more than about 10 days away, which is as far ahead as Apple Weather forecasts. Windline shows the date the forecast opens, 10 days before the day. Open the same link from then on and the rating appears.

What you’ll see

  • On the event’s list of days: Soon, with “Forecast opens Sat 10 Oct” (the date 10 days before that day).
  • On the day itself: “Forecast opens …” with “Apple Weather forecasts about 10 days ahead. Open this link closer to the ride.”

Nothing is wrong with the event. The link stays the same, and the day fills in by itself once it’s inside the window.

Part of the ride is beyond the forecast

For a day right at the edge of the window, the end of the ride can fall outside it. The footer then adds “Part of the ride is beyond the forecast window.” The rating uses the part that is covered. Check again the next day for the full picture.

Cold fronts

Fronts follow the same window: they can only show for days that have a forecast. See cold fronts.
